Camelback Mountain, AZ
Aug 05, 2021Check this one off the bucket list! I have been dying to hike Camelback Mountain in Scottsdale, Arizona since I was a kid, and I finally did it!! I felt so strong and accomplished after I finished like champ!
Hiking is one of my favorite things to do. I take every opportunity to notice all my senses and let go of things that aren’t serving me anymore. I admire the natural beauty that surrounds me and have gratitude for the ability to accomplish such an extreme hike!
Tips for Type-1
In my trusty backpack I have plenty of water, tangerines, almond butter and jelly sandwich for when I make it to the top! I also packed trail mix with dried fruit, and apple juice just in case.
I recommend wearing some sort of gloves because my hands got scraped up from the terrain. You want to make sure you keep your cuts clean, so I always have a small first aid kit. If you are allergic to bees bring your epipen! They weren’t bad but we definitely saw some areas where it could get ugly. The last thing you want is to get yourself in a situation on the mountain.
